Billye Lloyd

KERRVILLE - Billye Joe Lloyd, 76, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Billye Joe was born on December 10, 1938 to Raymond D. and Leta Oramae Gray Lloyd in Snyder, Texas.

He attended schools in Snyder, and graduated from Snyder High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the military where he served 3 years in the US Army. After serving his country, he met the love of his life, Gale Janice Parr and they were married on February 18, 1967 and moved to Dalhart Texas.

After moving to Dalhart, Billye Joe was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot), where he retired in maintenance with 32 years of service. Retirement brought he and Gale to Kerrville where they enjoyed the slower pace of life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond D. and Leta Lloyd; his brothers, Carl Ray Lloyd, Jerry Bob Lloyd, Jimmie Don Lloyd and Keith Lloyd; and his sister, Eltine Vines.

Those who are left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Gale Lloyd; his children, Robert Lloyd, Gary Lloyd, and wife Larisa Kirillove, along with their son Alexander Joe Lloyd, Kathy Hughes and husband Mark, along with their children Benjamin Hughes and Madilyn Hughes; his brother, Weldon Lloyd; his sisters, Pat Cornett and Dorothy Beaty; he is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, and his sisters-in-law, Janice Lloyd, Vell Lloyd, Donna Lloyd and Carol Lloyd.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday January 30, 2015 at the Riverside Church of Christ, 625 Harper Road, Kerrville, Texas 78028.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Riverside Church of Christ, Missions Fund, 625 Harper Road Kerrville, Texas 78028.
