Billy Ray Laurendine, age 75, of Kerrville, TX, passed from this life on June 4, 2013 at a local care center. Billy was born April 7, 1938 in Ovett, MS to David and Nell Laurendine.
Bill has been a resident of Kerrville, TX since 2006, prior to that he had retired from Silver Spring, MD and relocated to The Live Oaks in Fredericksburg, TX in 1993. He had worked with Ford Aerospace for 23 years living in Bangkok, Thailand, Sunnyvale, Santa Maria, San Jose, and Santa Clara, Calif. He also held positions for the company in Kodiak, Alaska, Bude, North Cornwall, and Harrogate Knaresborough, N. Yorkshire, England.
Bill married Terry Tindall in Denver, CO in 1969, after meeting in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he was working for Litton Communications. Bill spent four years in the service of the United States Air Force. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kerrville and is a past President of the Navy League in Kerrville. Bill was a true animal lover from his cat, Mickey, to armadillos, raccoons, and deer in the Hill Country.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Laurendine of Kerrville, TX brother, Ken and wife, Alice of Birmingham, AL sister, Mildred McCarty of McKinney, TX, and many loving nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17 Chicago, IL 60601, the First United Methodist Music Department or the charity of ones choosing in Bills honor.
Memorial services will be at First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028, Friday June 14, 2013 at 11AM with Rev. Don McAvoy officiating.
