Billy L. Skipper Landgrebe, age 70, of Kerrville passed away peacefully on Friday, January 24, 2003 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 25, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Daniel Henry Landgrebe and Sula Thompson Landgrebe.Billy came by the name Skipper at the young age of 12. He and a friend built a wood boat and from that point on Billy has been known as Skipper. He graduated Tivy High School in 1951 and joined the Marines and served during the Korean Conflict. Skipper worked as a pipeline foreman and welding instructor which enabled him to travel to many exciting countries. One of his most memorable jobs was working on the Australian and Alaskan Pipelines. He enjoyed looking down the pipeline and seeing his accomplishment.Skippers love of sailing led him to have a custom boat built in Taiwan called the Walkabout. He also enjoyed deep sea diving and teaching both water and snow skiing. As well as enjoying sailing the deep blue sea, he was also a pilot and enjoyed soaring through the spacios skies.Skipper is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Henry Landgrebe, a brother Daniel Ray Landgrebe and his first wife, Carla Chamberlain Landgrebe. He is survived by his wife Priscilla of Kerrville mother Sula Landgrebe of Kerrville daughter Nanci Nyols of Currumbin Beach, Australia stepdaughter Cynthia Thomas and husband Chris of Waco, Texas sister Sue Hartung and husband Al of Kerrville 3 grandchildren and a beloved friend Charmaine Munday of Melbourne, Australia.
