Betty Taylor

Betty Jean (Black) Taylor, 78, of Kerrville, TX, passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at a local care facility. She was born August 19, 1940, in Kerrville to Q.P. and Hattie (Gross) Black.

Betty was raised in Kerrville and graduated from Tivy High School in 1958. She married Richard Taylor on July 26, 1959 in Mexico. Shortly after their marriage they moved to San Antonio and then to Port Aransas. After ten years away, they decided to return to their home in Kerrville. Betty worked over thirty years for Circle K Corporation before retirement; she then took a job for five years at Luby's. In her free time she enjoyed fishing, scrap booking, antiquing and spending time with her dogs she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Q.P. and Hattie Black; husband, Richard James Taylor; brothers, Pete Black, Jack Black, Bill Black and sister, Joyce Peese.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include sons, Gordon Wayne Taylor and wife, Jo Ann, Steven Ray Taylor and wife Gracie and Jonathan Taylor; grandchildren, Stephanie, Genevie, Morgan and Lezli; great grandchildren, Natalie, Madison, Emma, Isaac, Kennedy, Peyton, Daniel and Aiden.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy. Kerrville, TX 78028.

Graveside Service will take place at 2 PM Wednesday January 30, 2019 at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.
