Bennye Noreen Gilbert, 84, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life at her residence on Friday, February 1, 2013. She was born in Sanderson, TX on November 2, 1928 to Ben and Lucille Hill Gilbert.
Bennye was raised in San Angelo, TX where she spent most of her early years helping her father on the family ranch. She left home for her education, moving to St. Louis, MO. After pursuing those educational dreams, she relocated to Kerrville in 1965. Bennye spent 26 years working for the USDA Livestock and Insect Laboratory in Kerrville as a Medical Technician. She was a beloved member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church. Being a lover of animals and wildlife, she became active in the Wildlife Rescue Rehabilitation and was also an avid wildlife photographer.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her long time friend, Jayme Riner, her beloved dog Kate, and numerous cousins, loving friends and neighbors who will miss her greatly.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions may be forwarded, in her memory, to the charity of ones choice.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Pauls United Methodist Church, 135 Methodist Encampment, Kerrville, TX 78028 on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2 PM with the Rev. Bill Johnson and the Rev. Sherry Strain officiating.
