Benito Perez

Benito "Benny" Rivas Perez, 70, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life at a local hospital on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 after a long illness. Born in Johnstown, ND on August 28, 1944, he was the son of Casimiro and Luz Rivas Perez. He had been a resident of Kerrville since 1975.

Growing up in Crystal City, TX where his family was from, he later moved to Sussex, WI. He started as a maintenance mechanic for Lakeside Packaging Company, after which he moved into management positions. Moving to Kerrville, TX in 1975, he started working for Bill & Jerry's Radiator and Auto Repair Shop on Water Street. He continued working there even after he started dialysis in 1998.

He took pride in the fact that he was one of the longest living dialysis patients in Texas. "Benny" would say that he was able to live so long on dialysis because he followed the rules and kept his mind sharp by doing word puzzles. He also contributed his strong faith as to the ability to continue life for 17 years, and he would always say a prayer prior to his dialysis treatment and again when he finished each time.

Benito is predeceased by his parents; sister, Mini; brothers, Casimiro and Andy.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Maria Leal Perez; son, Adrian Perez; daughter, Cynthia Ann Jasso; grandchildren, Jesse (Benny) Jasso and Victoria K. Jasso, along with a host of many friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly.

As per his wishes, his cremated remains will be taken back to Crystal City, TX by his family and placed with his mother that he loved so very much.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home. (830) 895-5111
