Mountain Home Our Lord God has called Benito Lozano, a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, into the presence of his Kingdom. Benito, 81, of Mountain Home, TX, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 19, 2008.Benito was the oldest of nine children. He was born in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Cipriano Lozano and Herminia Gonzalez on August 23, 1926. As a young child herding goats he spent time around the campfire listening to old stories and legends. As a young man at 17 yrs of age he came to the U.S. to work and help support his parents and younger siblings.In 1950, Benito began working at H.E. Butt Bakery in Corpus Christi, TX, as a baker. Peering between the bread racks he set his sights onto a beautiful young lady. Mariana Saldana. They were wed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, TX on April 1, 1951. He moved his family to California in 1958 where he worked for the 4S Bakery in Los Angeles and Laura Scudders Potato Chip Company in Anaheim. He retired after 20 yrs with the AFLCIO Union and they returned to Texas. They bought ranch property and built their home in Real County. There Benito relived his youth by raising goats and pastured them along Hwy 41. Benito was a kind and friendly person who befriended everyone, he knew no strangers. His sense of humor and story telling were unique and impressionable. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.He leaves behind his wife of 56 yrs, Mariana S. Lozano his son, Luis L. Lozano his two daughters, Maria Juanita Lenzo and husband Mark and Anna Maria Hernandez and husband Moses three granddaughters, Tracey Lenzo, Rhonda Lenzo, and Miriam Hernandez two grandsons, Christopher Lenzo of Las Vegas, NV and Anthony Lenzo of Loveland, Co two brothers, Venacio Lozano of Pharr, TX and Jose Angel Lozano Mona of Texas City, TX three sisters, Elena Lozano of Mission, TX and Rebecca Gonzalez of Galveston, TX, Cipriana Cantu Lucio of Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.Mr. Lozano is preceded in death by his sons, Benito Lozano Jr. 2 Months and Luciano Lozano 3 Months his parents, Cipriano and Herminia Lozano sister, Hermina Garza and his two brothers, Manuel Lozano and Jesus Mario Lozano.
