Born in Hunt on June 13, 1915, he was the son of john Wesley and Carrie Emma Page Evans.

He served proudly in the US Navy during WWII, serving on the USS LST 488.

On March 5, 1948, he married Letha Shubert in San Antonio, TX. They celebrated their 61th wedding anniversary this year.

quotWild Billquot was a plumber, electrician, air conditioning technician and a painter. He enjoyed riding a motor cycle and being a pilot.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Letha Shubert Evans of Kerrville his son, Belvin Ray quotButchquot Evans of NC his daughter, Maisie Page Gossum of TX many grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

There is no visitation.

A celebration of Wild Bills life will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 10:00AM. Inurnment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.

In lieu of floral arrangements, Wild Bill had requested that monetary donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
