Kerrville Becky Lynn Johnson, formerly Becky L. Cumpian, 51, of Kerrville, passed from this life at her home on Monday, September 12, 2011, surrounded by her family.

Born in Sterling, IL on February 2, 1960, she was the daughter of Merrill V. and Barbara S. Wade Johnson.

Becky had received her Masters in Special Education and had taught school for 21 years in the San Antonio, Devine, Center Point and Kerrville School Districts. She retired from Starkey School in Kerrville due to her health. She had a passion for teaching future generations. She was a member of the TEA and the NEA.

She was a devoted member of Riverside Church of Christ.

She loved to read, sing and spending many hours tending to her gardens, and was also a big sports fan.

Becky established quotBeckys Hopequot, an organization that was near and dear to her heart.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Annie Cumpian of Kerrville her son, Jacob Cumpian of Kerrville her parents, Merrill V. and Barbara S. Wade Johnson of Kerrville her brother Kenneth Johnson of Dell City, TX nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great Aunt, Marie Frazier of Kerrville, not to exclude the many friends that she met and loved.

A celebration of the life of Becky will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2011 at 2PM at the Riverside Church of Christ, 625 Harper Rd, Kerrville.

A celebration Becky will also be held at the 16th Avenue Church of Christ in Sterling, IL on October 1, 2011 at 10AM with inurnment to follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Sterling, IL.

The family suggests that donations in her name be made to Beckys Hope, CO Community Foundation of the Hill Country, PO Box 291354, Kerrville, TX 78028.
