Kerrville Beatrice W. Wright died May 14, 2007. She was born in Sebewaing, Michigan to Harley Z and Dorothy Palmer Wooden on May 21, 1920. She attended Michigan State University and married John W. Wright on October 19, 1940 in Flint, Michigan. The marriage produced two children, Anne Wright Wilson and David J. Wright and four grandchildren. A stayathome mother, she was always involved in volunteer activities, such as president of the PTA, church secretary, and organizer and president of two dance clubs. In 1960 when the Carnegie Library building in Mt. Clemens Michigan was vacated, she recruited a board of ors, raised funds, and helped create an art museum, serving as president for several years before retiring to Kerrville in 1974. In Kerrville, she was a longterm volunteer at the St. Peters Cottage Shop. She and her husband also enjoyed many years of travel in the northern US and Canada in their Airstream trailer and as members of the Hill Country Unit of WBCCI. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, May 26, 2007 in the St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville, TX. Inurnment will follow in the St. Peters Episcopal Church Columbarium.In lieu of floral tributes, memorials can be sent to the St. Peters Episcopal Church Building Fund or to the Kerrville Arts and Culture Center Handicap Accessibility Project.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
