Barbara Grimm

SAN MARCOS Barbara Fisher Grimm was born September 13, 1918 in Butler, PA. She died in San Marcos, TX on March 3, 2007 at the age of 88 years. She graduated from Wilson Tract High School in Harlingen, TX in 1936 and from Robert B. Green Hospital School of Nursing in San Antonio in 1938.Barbara married Henry Grimm in 19. After living in San Antonio a few years they moved to Kerrville, TX and later Ingram, TX where Barbara made her home until 2003. During much of this time Barbara worked as a nurse in the VA Hospital in Kerrville.In 2003 Barbara moved to Redwood Springs Assisted Living Community in San Marcos, TX where she resided until her death.Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, who died in Dec. 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John Clifford Fisher and Margaret Irene Negley Fisher, by sisters Jane Fisher Corris of San Antonio and Kathryn Fisher Gossett of Dumas, TX and brother Felix Fisher of Hunt, TX. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Fisher Bishop of San Marcos, TX and by nieces Irene Fisher Womack and husband Bill of Kerrville, Felecia Fisher Dobbs and husband Charlie of Kerrville, nephew Johnny Fisher and wife Rita of Hunt, TX, nephew Byron Gossett and wife Patricia of Amarillo, TX, nephew Bruce Gossett and wife Linda of Amarillo, TX, nieces Sheran Seif and Paige Bishop of San Marcos, TX and nephew Sherwood Bishop of San Marcos, TX, as well as by the many children and families of her nieces and nephews.Barbara was spirited, energetic and very loving. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at Redwood Springs Assisted Living Center in San Marcos at a time to be announced. Barbara will be interred, without services, beside her husband at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of floral arrangements, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association in her name.
