Kerrville Barbara Ann Ellis Grant Frombaugh, of Kerrville, went to be with her Lord on April 25, 2009 in Kerrville, TX.
She was born June 15, 1926 in Houston, TX to James G. and Georgia Mae Ellis.
Mrs. Frombaugh grew up in the Houston Heights area, and attended Reagan High School. Being in the Reagan Redcoats, she played bugle and snare drums and as a non officer, was honored as an outstanding Reagan Redcoat. Later she attended Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
After living in Bandera and Tarpley, she settled in Houston in the Spring Branch area with her then husband, Tom Grant, to raise their family.
An active member of the Heights Presbyterian Church, where she was the Christian Education Director, she later a member of the Spring Branch Presbyterian Church.
She retired after twentysix years of service with the State Welfare Department Living in San Leon and married to Pat Frombaugh, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Texas City, TX. Moving to The Woodlands, TX, she was involved with The Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church and later moving to Huntsville, TX, became involved with the First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville. Transferring her membership to the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville, she continued to dedicate her life to her Lord and Savior. Being a life member of Presbyterian Women and a member of PEO, she made many friends in the six years she lived in Kerrville.
Barbara was a huge Astros fan from their beginnings in Houston as the Colt 45s.
Mrs. Frombaugh was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pat, and a brother, Bill Ellis.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Patricia Ann Henderson and husband, James son, Thomas Patrick Grant III and wife Sally daughter Mary Frances Durden and husband John daughter Barbara Lucia Faulkner grandchildren, Don Carlton, Sharon Grant, Michael Grant and wife Debbie, Michelle Faulkner, Thomas Faulkner, Amber Roberson and husband Emile great grandchildren, Lane Goodwin, Gretchen Grant and Kaia Roberson a sister, Mary Gibson and brothers, John Ellis and Jim Ellis. She is also survived by five stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat grandchildren. She touched many hearts with her love and kindness, being an inspiration and friend to her family and many people throughout her life. She will be truly missed by all those who loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:00AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville with Rev. Rob Lohmeyer officiating.
