Audrey Wood

Oklahoma City, OK Audrey I. Wood was reunited with her beloved Hillbilly on Wednesday, November 14 after an extended, spirited and courageous battle with double pneumonia. She was welcomed as well by her personal Lord and Savior, with whom she had a deep personal relationship.Audrey loved singing, drama, crosswords, crocheting, square dancing and enjoying the simple pleasure of dining out and meeting strangers who ly became her friends. Some of her happiest times were going to parades and local events with her husband, Cliff, who was known throughout the Hill Country as Hillbilly, a Shriner clown. Audrey was also a member of Eastern Star and often used her drama skills to clown up alongside Hillbilly.Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on October 5, 1923, Audrey Rassmussen grew up in the Omaha, Nebraska area. It was there she met Cliff, was married, and began a series of moves that began in Iowa and included stops in West Virginia, Texas, Missouri, and Connecticut as Cliff worked for the Veterans Administration. It was through these travels they found, and fell in love with, the Hill Country. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff and two sons, Bruce and Mark. She is survived by son Clifford, Jr and wife Janet of San Marcos, Texas, daughter Susan Skinner and husband Mike of Norman, Oklahoma, daughter Sheryl Tucke and husband Larry of San Antonio, Texas, and son Craig and wife Jodi of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. She is also survived by nine grandchildren with one great grandchild on the way.Audrey was preceded in death by her brother, Dayton Rasmussen and is survived by his wife, Marty of Omaha, Nebraska. Also surviving Audrey is her brother Jay Rasmussen and wife Dallas, of Riviera Beach, Florida.Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Rev. Sam Ligon officiating. Open visitation at Kerrville Funeral Home is available until that time. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests memorials be made in Audreys name to Shriners Hospitals for Children.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
