Kerrville Auda Mae Aycox Norman of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at a local care facility. She was born in Purcell, Oklahoma on September 22, 1914 to Andrew Craig and Anna Mae Cobb Aycox. Mrs. Norman was raised on the West Texas plains, growing up in Tahoka, TX. She always had a chuckle about having been selected as Miss Tahoka while in high school She married A.N. Norman, Jr. in 1938. Having lived most of her life in Texas, she also made Oklahoma, and Kansas her home at different times, then after some years away, she moved back to Tahoka in 1945.Working as a legal secretary for a portion of her life, she was elected District Clerk of Lynn County in 1974. Audie was an avid golfer and an accomplished bridge player. She had been a Life Master of the American Bridge Association since 1964 and did considerable playing in the Llano Estacado unit and the South Plains area. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She took pride in her heritage, appreciated the strong, independent, and hard working character of the pioneers of the plains. Mrs. Norman lived her life with integrity and independence that she so admired in her parents. She was devoted to her friends, and always enjoyed a good laugh. She is survived by one son, Jim Norman and wife Jane of Hamilton, TX one nephew, Craig L. Leslie and wife Lynda of Kerrville, TX greatnephews, Kurt and Jon Leslie and families, along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.Graveside Services will be held at the Tahoka City Cemetery, 11 AM, Tuesday April 1, 2008.In lieu of floral tributes memorials may be made in her name to the charity of ones choice.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home. 830 8955111
