Arthur Gabler

Kerrville Arthur L. quotArtquot quotArchiequot Gabler, 83, of Kerrville, passed from this life at his home on Saturday, July 24, 2010.

Born in East Benard, Texas on December 6, 1926, he was the son of Arthur and Alice Moeller Gabler. He had been a longtime resident of Kerrville.

Art graduated from Tivy High School in May of 1945 and in June of 1945, attended Schreiner Institute until August 1948. While at Schreiner, he was a Phi Theta Kappa honors.

From March 1945 to June 1946, he served in the US Navy with the rank of Seaman, First Class.

Art graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, with a degree in Architectural Engineering and was an architect and designer for many years.

He is predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Henrietta Lee Gabler.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Lillian Kerr Gabler of Kerrville, his daughter, Paula Gabler Givens of Ingram his grandchildren, Charles W. Givens of Kerrville, Christopher L. Givens of Ingram and granddaughter, Gale Marie Givens of Ingram his sister, Theresa King of Kerrville and many loved nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

A celebration of his life will be held at First Christian Church on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 2PM. Private committal will be held at Nichols Cemetery.

The family suggests that donations be made to a mission cause in Arts name, to help spread the gospel.
