Memorial services for Mrs. Annabelle BarnesAllenKellersberger, age 87, of Kerrville who passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 7, 2002, will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2002, at 2:00 P.M. in the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, TX with the Rev. Kevin Huddleston officiating.She was born Annabelle Lucy Barnes in Galveston, TX. on April 29, 1915. She grew up in the company of two beloved sisters, Dorothy and Elizabeth Betty, and many childhood friends at The Oaks on the bayou in Dickinson, TX. Her father was William Wythe Barnes, a South Texas surveyor and son of Samuel Wythe Barnes who served as the British Consulate in Galveston. Her mother was Carlisle Stoner of Victoria, TX.She married Carl Jones CJ Allen, Jr. of Webster, TX on October 29, 1948. They had two children, Carl Jones Buck Allen III and Carlisle Allen. They owned and operated Allens Community Store in Webster, TX. for a number of years before Mr. Allen accepted a postion with Texas Eastern Pipeline Co. They traveled extensively in South Texas, Maryland, Illinois and Kentucky until Mr. Allen passed away in 1965.Mrs. Allen married Laurence Kellersberger on October 12, 1968. They lived in Seabrook, TX. and enjoyed the deep affection and admiration of their extended family. The Kellersbergers retired to Fredericksburg in 1983 where they were active at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, the PCAA and many other community volunteer activities. Mr. Kellersberger passed away in 1986.Mrs. Kellersberger devoted her life to her family, her church and her community. She served as a board member of the Galveston County Historical Society and was also a member of the Museum Board. She devoted many years to the alter guild and the Daughters of the King organizations at both St. Christophers Episcopal Church in League City, TX. and St. Barnabas Epsicopal Church in Fredericksburg. In adddition, she served as president of the Women of the Church at St. Barnabas.She is remembered for the generous love and devotion she gave to her family, for her abiding love of Texas history, for her many kindnesses to others and for her great joy of life. As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and friend, she was blessed with a long life full of joy and love. She met times of hardship with courage and faith. Although she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices that she is now free of pain and poor health.Her parents, her husbands CJ and Larry, and her precious son Buck, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Carlisle Allen Pearson of Kerrville, two sisters Dorothy Carlisle Barnes and Betty Hamilton of Galveston, daughterinlaw, Fay Allen of wood, two Stepdaugthers Judy Kellersberger of New York and Gail Kellersberger of Houston, four granddaughters and their husbands, seven greatgrandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to The Stained Glass Window Fund at St. Barnabas Epsicopal Church in Fredericksburg, TX. or to the charity of ones choice.Kerrville Funeral Home of Kerrville is in charge of arrangements.
