Kerrville, Texas Anna Marie Bergmann, 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed away Thursday, March 6, 2003. Anna was born on March 6, 1913 in Comfort, Texas to Frank and Minna Rusch, both deceased.Ms. Bergmann had been a lifelong resident of the Texas Hill Country. After graduating from Comfort High School, she attended the University of Texas and obtained a teaching certificate. She began her career in a oneroom school in the Comfort area, and later taught in the Boerne schools. When teaching Texas history, she always enjoyed telling her students they could remember her birthday as the day the Alamo fell. After World War II, she and husband Harry moved to Kerrville where she left her teaching career to become a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.Anna was a lifelong member of Zion Luthern Church in Kerrville. She was also a charter member of the Delta Kappa Gamma sorority, Eta Xi chapter. For many years Anna was active in the Kerr County Home Extension Clubs.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry three sisters, Norma Nagel, Adele Schultze and Gerda Garven and one brother, Kermit Rusch.She is survived by her daughter and soninlaw, Harriet and Byron Warren nieces, Pat Hyatt, Virginia Potts, and Ruby Hughes nephews, Kerry Rusch, Cecil Wellborn, Tumpy Wellborn, Neil Bergmann and Arlan Bergmann numerous grandnieces and grandnephews and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.The visitation will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Sunday, March 9, 2003 from 3:00 5:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 10, 2003 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Comfort Cemetery in Comfort, Texas.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, 624 Barnett, Kerrville, Texas 78028 or the charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
