Andy Phea

Kerrville Rev. Andy Luther Phea, 85, of Kerrville, passed from this life at his home on Saturday, November 28, 2009.

Born in Bonham, TX on May 20, 1924, he was the son of Luther and Leavie Barr Phea. He had been a resident of Kerrville since 1986.

Rev. Phea served in the US Army as a PFC from January 1943 to February 1946.

After service in the Army, Rev. Phea became very involved in his faith and started a lifelong ministry, being a Pastor for over 47 years. He served many churches in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. He attended the Oklahoma School of Religion. For 16 years, Rev. Phea served as the minister of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

After his retirement from the ministry, Rev. Phea worked at Kerrville Funeral Home.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, worked with CAM for 16 years, and was a member of the 4 Squares in Kerrville for 16 years.

Rev. Phea will be greeted in Heaven by his parents, and a host of other family and friends.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Ethel W. White Phea of Kerrville a son, Daniel Phea, and his wife, Judy, of Kerrville 2 brothers, Fred Phea and his wife, Clara, of Denver, CO and Jay Phea, and his wife, Josephine, of Carlton, CA nieces, nephews and many friends that he ministered to.

ation will be on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 68 at Kerrville Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Kerrville. Committal will be on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00AM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
