San Antonio Alvin F. Todd entered in to the arms of our Lord January 27, 2009 after a sudden illness. He was born December 6, 1923 in Waco, TX.nbspHe served in the United States Marine Corps in many campaigns of the South Pacific during World War II. He met Laverne Nyquist in Lyford, TX and was married in September 1947. He joined the Border Patrol after the war and served for 31 years, during which time he was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades. After retiring in 1976 he began the hobby of creating stained glass windows. He became an accomplished artist, and his beautiful glass art adorned several churches, homes and businesses.nbspAlvin was also a member of the Masonic Lodge with membership in Harlingen Lodge 1132, having received an award and pin honoring his 50 years of membership and service.nbspHe was a loving and devoted husband his wife preceded him in death in 2008.nbsp Brothers Douglas Todd, Randall Todd, Raymond Todd and Bill Todd and sisters, Marie Threadgill and Pat Holt also precede him in death.nbspHe is survived by 2 daughters Sue Gac and husband Jesse of San Antonio, TX and DrsquoAnne and husband Lee Tucker of Boerne, TX 4 grandchildren, James Ordner of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer and husband Robert Vasquez of Corpus Christi, TX, Jared Tucker and wife Drena of San Marcos, TX, Megan Henry and husband Sean of McKinney, TX 3 great grandchildren, Lauren Vasquez of Corpus Christi, TX, Addie and Cale Henry of McKinney, TXnbspnbspalong with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.nbspnbspHe touched the heart of every person he met. He will be remembered for his humorous stories, great generosity and loving spirit.nbspHe and his wife we active for many years at the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville, TX where Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 with the Rev. Dr. Warren Hornung officiating.nbspIn lieu of floral arrangements, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimerrsquos Association in his name.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home, 830 8955111.nbsp
