Kerrville Alvin E. Odom, 92, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local health care facility on Sunday evening, July 11, 2010.
Born in Mound Creek, TX on May 6, 1918, he was the son of Grover Cleveland Odom and Georgia Caskey Odom.
On May 8, 19, he married Ellen Passmore in Nixon, TX, a union that would last 71 years.
Alvin served in the US Marine Corp and once honorably discharged, he moved to Aranson Pass, TX where he and his wife opened a meat market. After he retired, he enjoyed ranching.
He was predeceased by his parents, a daughter, Myra Wilder and a son Alvin quotBuddyquot Odom, Jr.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Ellen Passmore Odom of Kerrville his son, Jim Odom and his wife, Sandra, of Kerrville 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held at Nixon Cemetery, Nixon, TX on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 3PM.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at Hill Top Nursing Home and suggests that donations in Alvins name be made to VistaCare Hospice or the charity of ones choice.
