SAN ANTONIO Alice Burns Hague, 91, of San Antonio, TX, went to be with the Lord on Monday July 10, 2013 at Odyssey Hospice Center in San Antonio. Alice was born on June 3, 1922 to Harley Burns and Mary Post in Washington, PA.

She was a loving wife to her husband for 62 years and a devoted mother to four children. She attended Drexel College in Philadelphia and was proud to have served in the United States Navy during WW ll. Despite some tragedies in life, she remained faithful to the Lord and served Him and mankind in various endeavors. She and her Husband owned a food restaurant for many years, and she later managed a senior feeding center. Some of her volunteer efforts were teaching adults to read, Habitat for Humanity, and PEO. Her involvement at her church included Presbyterian Women, Stephen Ministry and serving as a deacon and as an elder. She and her family moved numerous times throughout her lifetime, and she was blessed with many wonderful friends.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents Harley and Mary Burns her husband, William W. Hague her sister, Caroline Jacobus and her sons, Geoffrey and William Hague.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her sister, Ruth Lee her son, John Hague and wife Pat of Richmond, WV her daughter, Elizabeth Ball and husband Scott of San Antonio, TX four granddaughters, two step granddaughters, and two great grandchildren.

The family will hold a Memorial Service at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Roleto Drive, San Antonio, TX on Sunday July 28, 2013 at 3:30 P.M. Following the service, a celebration of her life will also be held from 5 to 7 PM at the Forum, 311 Nottingham West, San Antonio, where she had resided for the past several years.
