Kerrville Texas Alfred Maier, 88, passed away on Thursday Nov 26, 2009, after a short illness.

He was born on Oct 24, 1921 in Eureka, South Dakota to Jacob Maier and Margeret Lindaman Maier and was one of ten children.

He married Eileen Timm on Feb 15, 1947 in Lake City Minnesota. He was a decorated Army World War II and Korean War Veteran. He worked for many years in Civil Service. He also worked as a construction worker and built several homes. He always had a side job going. He was quota Jack of many tradesquot and liked to keep busy all the time. Mr Maier enjoyed hunting, sports, and especially traveling, meeting and visiting with new people.

He had lived in Kerrville for the past 29 years. Before that he had lived in Russell Kansas and Napa California.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Eileen his mother Margeret, his father Jacob Brothers Jacob A Maier Jr., Burnard Bernie Maier, Godhilf Curley Maier, Andrew Joe Maier, Emanuel Mel Maier, John Maier, Sisters Frieda Reilie, and Emma Preston.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his Son Terry Maier and wife Debbie of Las Vegas Nevada Daughter Linda Clark of Kerrville TX Daughter Sandi Crist of Napa California One sister Hildigard Baughman of Ashley North Dakota Seven grandchildren, Jennifer Bartts, Brent Maier, Brian Maier, Sara Sander, James Crist, Terry Crist, and Lisa Crist Nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Missy, Rhonda, Princess and Stephen for your wonderful compassionate care during his last days.

We will forever miss you and never forget the wonderful dad you were to us.

ation will be Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 13 and on Monday, November 30, 2009 from 9AM until the service.

Funeral service will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home on Monday afternoon, November 30, 2009 at 3:00PM with Rev. Del Way officiating. Committal will be at Garden of Memories.

The family suggest that donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
