Kerrville Albert J Pruitt Jr. 74, of Kerrville, TX, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 in Kerrville. Albert was born on October 23, 19 to Albert J. Pruitt and Mary Timmie Elizabeth Wilson in Chillicothe TX. Albert grew up in Denver Co. He attended and graduated from Northside High School. He played many sports including, football, tennis, boxing, and later in life he developed a passion for golf. His true passion has always been music, Classical Blues. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, months before his 18th birthday. He was in active duty for 3 years as a naval musician and 3 more years in the Navy Reserve, after which he performed his music and composed many pieces. In 1968 he married Ruth Steiner and a year later on November 11th they had a son.

Around the time of doing, as he called, The family thing, he returned to school and received his teaching degree. He taught high school band in Durango, Co and other surrounding communities through the years. Albert and his wife separated in 1979 and neither of them remarried. He then focused on raising his son and new daughter. In 1982 he moved to Kerrville, TX and stayed in the area to take care of his parents Timmie and Gordon. In 1987 he had a 10 year old daughter that he devoted himself to raising. Nothing meant more to him. Through the 90s, they were found on the golf course always, laughing, competing and living. On the golf course he acquired many true friends that he kept in his heart forever. On Easter 2002, a new girl came into his life, a granddaughter named after his own mother two years later, he gave up everything for this baby, including the occasional drink. He focused on her education and she reignited his love for music for which he taught her how to play piano. Nine months before is passing, this loving man, daughter, and soninlaw adopted another baby, his new granddaughter Miley. His life was full of love, family, music and personal adventures. He will be greatly missed.

Albert was preceded in death by his lost father Albert J Pruitt sr. February of 1941, his beloved mother Mary Elizabeth Pruitt Butler, his caring step father Gordon Bentley Butler of MD, his kindred spirit Ruth Pruitt, loved sister Barbara Butler..

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his son Dave Gordon Pruitt of Colorado, his daughter Katherine Elizabeth Wilson and soninlaw Howard J. Wilson, his beloved granddaughters Mary Elizabeth and Miley Earline of Kerrville, sisters Deborah Butler Hunter of Indiana and Karen Butler of New York. 1, niece Jessica Beck Mitchell and 2, nephews Trevor Beck and Ross Butler Pitts of Colorado.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, November 3, 2013, in the main chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX. 78028.
