Albert McKnight

Kerrville Albert Joseph McKnight passed away peacefully on May 8, 2009, his 70th birthday. Born in Covington, Kentucky, quotAlquot made his home in many cities including Los Angeles, California Minneapolis, Minnesota Dallas, Texas and finally in Kerrville, Texas.

Al enjoyed a career as a bus operator in public transportation for more than thirty years. This was his passion. He started his career in November of 1967 in Los Angeles, California driving for RTD. He eventually retired from DART, in Dallas, Texas, August of 1999. He loved driving so much though that even after he retired he went back to work driving Shuttle buses for the DFW airport, where he drove for five more years. In his 37 years of being a bus operator he maintained a perfect safety record, something he was extremely proud of.

Al was full of life, even in his last days, always cutting up and making those around him smile. He loved his career, but more than anything he loved his wife and family.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Bernice McKnight his five children, Tonya McKnight, Albert Jay McKnight, Diana Schratz, Thomas Newton, and Raymond Newton his soninlaw and dear friend, David Schratz eight grandchildren, David, Laura, Kristopher, Nicholas, Joseph, Tony, Andrew, and Stephanie his greatgrandson, Marcus brother Kenny White and his mother Mollie McKnight. He enjoyed a lifelong friendship with Dave Corbin and will by missed by him. Al will join his other dear friends Steve Herizog and Bob Springer, his friend and mentor quotHoffmanquot, his cousin Vincent, and his father, Joseph McKnight, in heaven. God rest his soul.

Private Family Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
