Stamford, CT. Mrs. Louis Carroll Adams, formerly, Aimee Louise Schmerbeck, of Kerrville, Texas died peacefully with her loving family at her side on May 22, 2006. Mrs. Adams was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on September 22, 1912. She lived with her parents and two brothers in Mexico and Chile, South America, where her father, Robert L. Schmerbeck, was manager of the American Smelting and Refining Company, and her mother, Aimee Garrett was a teacher. The family later moved back to Kerrville.On September 3, 1937, she was married to Louis Carroll Adams of Longview, Texas and New York City. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1993. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Hill Country Preservation Society, First Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Church, Kerrville Performing Arts Society, and the Riverhill Country Club and Womens Association.She and her late husband retired to Kerrville in 1974, after living forty years in New York City and Tenafly, New Jersey.Mrs. Adams is survived by two daughters and sonsinlaw, Laurie and Dr. Russell Warren, and Carol Lee and John Scully of Greenwich, CT one sisterinlaw, Marium Schmerbeck two granddaughters, Laura and Lisa, one grandson, Russell F. Warren, Jr. and seven great grandchildren. Two brothers, Bob and Garrett Schmerbeck and her sisterinlaw Edie of Kerrville predeceased her. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Schreiner Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville with Rev. Sam Junkin and Rev. Rob Lohmeyer officiating. Private graveside services for the family will be held at Glen Rest Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Dietert Senior Center Building Fund, or the charity of your choice.
