Ada Spencer

Kerrville Marie Spencer, 75, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on December 18, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Spencer was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to James Worley and Gladys Waring Bruice on September 13, 1927.Mrs. Spencer was married in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1949 to B.B. Spencer. She attended the University of Arkansas where she received her degree in Registered Nursing in 1971. She then moved to Texas in 1973, and started to work at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. She received her Masters Degrees, both in Nursing and Counseling from UTSA. After leaving Sid Peterson, she worked as Director of Nursing at La Hacienda Treatment Center in Hunt, Texas. Mrs. Spencer also worked at both the VA Hospital and Kerrville State Hospital in Kerrville prior to her retirement at age 72. Mrs. Spencer was a talented artist in her spare time, sculpting and drawing among other things. She also was an accomplished horsewoman, never giving up her love of horses even in later years.Mrs. Spencer was preceded in death by her husband, B.B. Spencer, and a son James Stephen Spencer. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Spencer and grandson, Brian Hutchuson, several aunts and uncles, and many loving freinds and neighbors.Arranagements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
